The Isotype: Architecture, Origins, and an Embrace between History and the Future

  • Local Inspiration: The Gateway to Arroes: The outer frame of the symbol is inspired by one of the windows of the church in Arroes, Villaviciosa, the birthplace of the Corripio Alonso family. This architectural reference has been reinterpreted through a contemporary linear arch that evokes a traditional stained-glass window. The window serves as a bridge across time: a threshold that honours the past while opening towards the future.
  • The Two Oak Trees of Our Roots: At the heart of the symbol, the organic silhouettes of two oak trees come to life. These are the trees that stand over the ancestral homes of the Foundation’s founders, in Coya (Piloña) and Arroes (Villaviciosa). They are not merely trees; they are living symbols of our family lineage. Their crowns reach towards new life and the future, while their roots embrace the memory of our ancestors with strength.
  • Connection and Belonging: Beyond being an ornamental element, these oak trees represent our strong and enduring emotional ties to our homeland, Asturias; our family legacy; and the stability and strength of an unbreakable bond with our roots. They embody, therefore, a sense of belonging that does not constrain but sustains; one that nurtures a profound love for the land where we were born and that today, in turn, drives our mission to give back to this community all that it has given us.
