PEPÍN CORRIPIO HONOURED AT THE ASICOM–UNIVERSITY OF OVIEDO AWARDS
Alongside Corripio, six other distinguished figures were recognised for their achievements in different fields across the Ibero-American world for their contribution to strengthening the region’s culture and traditions.
Dominican businessman José Luis “Pepín” Corripio Estrada, born in Asturias, was honoured at the ASICOM–University of Oviedo Ibero-American Awards in recognition of a remarkable career shaped by his achievements and experiences in both Ibero-America and Spain.
Accepting the Award on behalf of his family, Corripio recalled how his father, Manuel Corripio García, planted the seed of the business group that he would later help grow and expand.
“They arrived in the time of sowing, and I arrived in the time of harvest,” he said.
Pepín Corripio emigrated from Asturias at an early age, grew up under his father’s guidance and went on to continue and expand the family business, helping transform it into the major business group it is today. The Corripio Group currently comprises more than 30 companies and employs approximately 14,000 people.
