The Raitana Association is a non-profit organisation based in Villaviciosa, working to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities and their families.

Founded in 1992 and re-established in 2015, the Association provides a wide range of support and specialist services, including inclusive leisure activities, independent living support, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, and accessibility initiatives. Through these programmes, it promotes personal autonomy, community participation and the rights of people with disabilities.

Over the years, the Association has become a leading force for inclusion and social commitment in the local community, developing projects that address the real needs of people with disabilities and help create a more accessible, inclusive and equal society.

The Award recognises Raitana’s longstanding work to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities since 1992. Through the provision of specialised services, the Association promotes the greatest possible degree of independence and supports access to leisure and free-time activities. Its work spans all stages of life, from the age of five through to old age, and serves people with all types of disabilities. Its programmes are designed to promote inclusion within the community and support integration into the workplace, while maintaining a strong commitment to volunteering.

With this Award, the Corripio Alonso Foundation wishes to recognise Raitana Association’s extraordinary contribution to social welfare and to pay tribute to all those—professionals, volunteers, family members and supporting partners—whose daily dedication helps make possible a fairer, more supportive and more humane society.
