Who We Are
The Corripio Alonso Foundation was established in 2024 at the initiative of Mr José Luis (“Pepín”) Corripio Estrada and his wife, Mrs Ana María Alonso de Corripio, both of whom were born in Asturias and are now based in the Dominican Republic. Despite living abroad, they have maintained strong ties to the region, particularly to Arroes (Villaviciosa), Pepín’s birthplace, to which they remain deeply attached. With the support and collaboration of their children, Manuel, José Alfredo, Lucía and Ana Corripio Alonso, they established the Foundation with the aim of giving back to “the land where they were born, a part of what it has given their family”.
As a non-profit organisation, the Foundation seeks to recognise, encourage and support individuals, organisations, and public or private institutions that have played, or continue to play, an important role in promoting exemplary values and making a significant contribution to the development of the region in the social, cultural, artistic, heritage and entrepreneurial spheres, thereby contributing to the well-being of society as a whole.
